Abstract | The aim of SO103 was a geoscience investigation offshore Valparaiso Chile to understand natural hazards, tectonic structure where the Chile margin is impacted by the Juan Fernandez ridge, and collect sediment for paleo climatic analysis. To achieve this, acquisition of high density wide-angle seismic sections using closely spaced Ocean Bottom Hydrophones (OBH) were conducted. Multibeam was recorded continuously during SO103. The system was working very well and surveys were conducted at a speed of 11 kn during transits and 3.5 kn during seismic surveys. The data quality was generally good with exception of two instances caused by bad weather conditions. |
