Purpose | |
Abstract | The major aim of SO121was to investigate the dynamics of hydrothermal systems in selected Deeps. Additional palaeoceanographic and microbiological questions were also be addressed. Specific aims were to study the hydrographic changes in individual Deeps and to investigate the causes of the temperature increase in the last few years while documenting the influence of the hydrothermal systems on the sedimentary organic matter in the Deeps. Though multibeam data has been recorded it was not the main focus of the cruise and no acquisition information has been provided by the responsible party. |
