| Abstract | SO148 was dedicated to detailed analysis and measurements at vent sites with active fluid and bubble discharge. A major objective of SO148-1 was the detailed sampling of sediments in respect to the horizontal and vertical gradient pattern induced by venting activity and reservoir effects of gas hydrate. Multibeam swathmapping was almost continuously recorded during RV SONNE cruise S0148. Hydrate Ridge as the main target area was intensely measured during former cruises. Therefore, the measurements were focused on gaps between the R1 structure and Hydrate Ridge. |
