Purpose | |
Abstract | The main objective was to carry out measurements and water sampling in the water column and the near-bottom water layer as well as the study of the local tectonics and the recovery of hard rock and sediment samples to find out whether in the area of the Lesser Antilles island are indications of recent to subrecent submarine hydrothermal activity exist. The work also includes microbial and zoological studies which are important tools to characterize the type and state of hydrothermalism. Though multibeam data has been recorded no acquisition information have been provided by the responsible party. |
