Abstract | During SO184-2 the present-day functioning of upwelling areas off the Indonesian coast, in response to the prevailing environmental conditions have been investigated by combined studies in the water column and at the sea floor. As well as the investigation of the development over the past ~50,000 years in the upwelling areas along the Indonesian continental slope off Java, Sumatra, and Sumba. During the cruise, the EM120 was operated continuously with a total beam width of 130° (2* 65°). The resulting coverage ratio corresponds to six times the water depth. The survey speed was around 6 knots. |
