Purpose
Abstract Main objectives of the cruise M88/1 were to initialize and configure all recently purchased components of a mobile 3D marine seismic data acquisition system and subsequently to operate the complete system to acquire a 3D data set in an area of limited extent. In the shallow North Sea the EM710 was used for bathymetric surveying during cruise M88/1. Dueto interferences the ship´s DOLOG was turned off during bathymetric data acquisition. The Kongsberg EM710 system is a multibeam swath sonar using a nominal sounding frequency between 70-100 kHz. 400 beams with a1° footprint are formed for each ping. The provided .all files contain water coloumn data.
