Purpose
Abstract Cruise M95 dealt with the project of unravel the sedimentation processes and the stratigraphic patterns of the carbonate banks rimming the Santaren Strait, with Great Bahama Bank to the East and Cay Sal Bank to the West. CDT data and watercolumn data were collected. The medium to deep-water system EM122 is operated with a sonar frequency of 12 kHz and the EM710 with sonar frequencies up to 400 to 100 kHz. Both systems were operated with 140°sectore coverage. Multibeam and PARASOUND data were recorded at a cruising speed of 5kn. Hydroacoustic data were subject to on-board processing and used to localize potential stations for sediment sampling. Though multibeam data was recorded, it was not the main focus of the cruise and no further information have been provided by the responsible party.
