Abstract | The deep water system EM122 was operated continuously in a 24-hour schedule. Several surveys were especially designed for collecting multibeam data.In typical ocean depths, a sounding spacing of about 50 m across and along is achievable. The achievable swath width on a flat bottom will normally be up to six times the water depth. The angular coverage sector and beam pointing angles may be set to vary automatically with depth according to achievable coverage. The beam spacing is normally equidistant. Beside the depth values, the EM122 provides also backscatter information and pseudo-sidescan images. |
