| Purpose | |
| Abstract | During cruise M12/3 the work of the BIOTRANS (biological vertical transport and Energy Budget in the near bottom water layer) as well as the JGOFS (Joint Global Ocean Flux Study) were continued in the West European Basin. The main research interest were the transport path of organic material in the near bottom water layer in the deep sea as well as the energy budget of the organisms in this layers. Additionally using sampling systems the particle flux was analyzed. During the entire cruise Hydrosweep Data were collected- The quality of profiles varies coherent to weather conditions and ship course. Though multibeam data was recorded, it was not the main focus of the cruise and no further information have been provided by the responsible party. |
