Purpose
Abstract During leg 3 of M14 two current meter mooring, that collected data for a year, were recovered. They were collecting data about the variability and the vertical structure of the western part of the Northern Brazil Current. Additionally using ship mounded systems water properties (like temperature and salinity) were measured along profiles. An additional research goal was the study of the variability of the igneous oceanic crust in the western South Atlantic along selected traverses using a magnetometer and a gravimeter. During the entire cruise Hydrosweep Data were collected- The quality of profiles varies coherent to weather conditions and ship course. Though multibeam data was recorded, it was not the main focus of the cruise and no further information have been provided by the responsible party.
