Abstract | The research aim of cruise M18 was to study the cold and warm water mass transports in the Northern Atlantic in order to understand the ocean´s role in climate. This cruise was dedicated to the World Ocean Circulation Experiment (WOCE). The scientific program included measurements of physical and chemical properties of the water masses such as temperature, salinity as well as nutrient and tracer concentrations. Additionally a current meter was used. During the entire cruise Hydrosweep Data were collected- The quality of profiles varies coherent to weather conditions and ship course. Though multibeam data was recorded, it was not the main focus of the cruise and no further information have been provided by the responsible party. |
