| Abstract | Cruise M25/3 took place in the south of Crete in the near of the margin of the Aegean Microplate. It was a part of the EU-prject MAST-II (Paleaoflux-Project). Using hydroaccoustic systems the development of the structural geology and of the depositional conditions should be reconstructed. Another research goal was the hydrochemical analysis of the water column (CH4 linked to tectonically element fluxes). Additionally sampling was done using dredges, Corers and a TV-grab to sample material used for geochemical and mineralogical investigations regarding organic carbon compounds and metal rich layers (sapropel stratigraphy). During the entire cruise Hydrosweep Data were collected- The quality of profiles varies coherent to weather conditions and ship course. Though multibeam data was recorded, it was not the main focus of the cruise and no further information have been provided by the responsible party. |
