Abstract | The research aim of M41/2 was to study the spreading axis of the mid-Atlantic ridge between 6-11 S in order to investigate the influence of a mantle plume on the spreading ridge. Therefore rock, sediment and water sampling was done using a dredge, a multicorer and a rosette system. During the entire cruise Hydrosweep and Parasound Data were collected. The used Hydrosweep is a multibeam echosounder using a frequency of 15.5 kHz. The quality of profiles varies coherent to weather conditions and ship course. Though multibeam data was recorded, it was not the main focus of the cruise and no further information have been provided by the responsible party. |
