Abstract | The research goal of the last leg of M41 was to study the particle sedimentation (fluxes and transport) and the distribution of microorganism as well as stable isotopes in various typical production systems in the western equatorial Atlantic and off Cape Blanc. Additionally sediment trap moorings were recovered and redeployed. During the entire cruise Hydrosweep and Parasound Data were collected. The used Hydrosweep is a multibeam echosounder using a frequency of 15.5 kHz. The quality of profiles varies coherent to weather conditions and ship course. Though multibeam data was recorded, it was not the main focus of the cruise and no further information have been provided by the responsible party. |
