Abstract | The Meteor cruise 43-2 was carried out to investigate particle transport from the narrow shelf of the Iberian Peninsula to the continental slope. The special issue of this cruise was to quantify sedimentation, bottom near particle transport, the hydrographical regime, and the exchange of biogases during winter, in order to compare these results with those of other seasons and other settings of shelf-continentals slope systems. During cruise M43-2, the shipboard acoustical system HYDROSWEEP was used on a 24 hour schedule to record continuous high resolution bathymetric, in spite of the poor weather conditions most data have been recorded successfully. |
