| Abstract | Research goal of M6/3 was to investigate and reconstructing the mass budget and current systems of the South Atlantic (Argentine continental margin) during the late Quaternary. Therefore water and sediment samples were taken to learn more about the sedimentological and paleobiological properties of the region. During the entire cruise Hydrosweep and Parasound Data were collected. The used Hydrosweep is a multibeam echosounder using a frequency of 15.5 kHz. It was used to study shallow sediment structures as well as to find sampling locations. The quality of profiles varies coherent to weather conditions and ship course. Though multibeam data was recorded, it was not the main focus of the cruise and no further information have been provided by the responsible party. |
