Abstract | Investigating the changes of the deep circulation and water mass distribution in the Irminger Sea was the main research interest of leg 2 of M50. Measure the water mass transport the vessel mounted ADCP was used. To take water samples and measure a CTD rosette with another ADCP system was used. During the entire cruise Hydrosweep and Parasound Data were collected. The used Hydrosweep is a multibeam echosounder using a frequency of 15.5 kHz. The quality of profiles varies coherent to weather conditions and ship course. Though multibeam data was recorded, it was not the main focus of the cruise and no further information have been provided by the responsible party. |
