Purpose
Abstract The scientific goal of M52/2 was to investigate the interplay and interrelation between climatology, sedimentological as well tectonic and geodynamic processes in the SE-Mediterranean Sea. Water and sediment sampling was done by using a multi corer, a gravity corer and a CTD rosette system. In addition 7400 km of multi-beam echosounding surveys were collected during the cruise. During the entire cruise Hydrosweep and Parasound Data were collected. The used Hydrosweep is a multibeam echosounder using a frequency of 15.5 kHz. The quality of profiles varies coherent to weather conditions and ship course. Though multibeam data was recorded, it was not the main focus of the cruise and no further information have been provided by the responsible party.
