Abstract | In leg 2 of M53 the tropical western Atlantic was investigated. In the upper part of the system the main aim was to determine the climate-relevant variability of watermasses and their transport. The transport of northern atlantic deepwater in the tropic western atlantic was the study aim of the upper part of the system. Therefore CTD water samples and other were used. To collect data of water currents and suspended materials through the water column the shipboard ADCP system was used. Though multibeam data was recorded, it was not the main focus of the cruise and no further information have been provided by the responsible party. |
