Abstract | The investigate the influence of Saharan dust deposits and marine upwelling at the NW African margin on quarternary biological productivity, high-resolution sediment samples were taken during leg 58/2A using gravity corer, multicorer and large box corer. The main working areas were shelf regions as well as continental slopes. Additionally samples of the water column were collected by the multinet and rosette. The Parasound and Hydrosweep systems were operating during the entire cruise. Because of changing wind conditions, the data varies in quality. Though multibeam has been recorded during the cruise, it was not a major focus and the responsible party provided no acquisition information. |
