Purpose | |
Abstract | Physical, biogeochemical and biological sampling was the main interest of leg 1 of M60. This was done to get a better understanding of processes and functional characteristics of seamount ecosystems as well as their influence on the surrounding oceans. M60/1 took part in the EU project OASIS (OceAnic Seamount: an Intergrated Study). Therefore two seamounts in the east Atlantic were investigated. Though bathymetry data were recorded, it was not the main focus of the cruise and no further information have been provided by the responsible party. |
