Abstract | Objectives during trial cruise P3 were to initialize and configure all components of a recently purchased 3D marine seismic data acquisition system and subsequently to operate the complete system to acquire a 3D data set in an area of limited extent. A second goal was to estimate the sound pressure level of BGRs seismic sources. The team of ICBM aimed on testing all installed oceanographic sensor systems and laboratories onboard the new research vessel plus to test own oceanographic sensors. A low traffic area in the British sector of the North Sea with water depth deeper than 40 m was selected for all operations. Though multibeam has been recorded during the cruise, it was not a major focus and the responsible party provided no acquisition information. |
