Abstract | The main target of the S087 cruise was to look for an underwater expression of the volcanism on the flank of the island and in the Compartment C. The present hotspot is localised using geophysical arguments to the south-west of Reunion Island, at roughly 150-300 km. One of the goals of the cruise was to recognized the volcanism associated with the trace of this hotspot. Bathymetric data consisted of 61 lateral depth determinations by Hydrosweep. Poor sea conditions decreased the quality of the data and introduced artefacts to the bathymetric map. The responsible party has not provided further acquisition information. |
