Purpose | |
Abstract | SO101 aimed a geoscience investigation offshore Valparaiso Chile to understand natural hazards, tectonic structure where the Chile margin is impacted by the Juan Fernandez ridge, and collect sediment for paleo climatic analysis. A multidisciplinary investigation accomplished on 3 legs consisted of swath mapping, magnetic, seismic reflection, and sampling with dredges and coring. Hydrosweep measurements were made along 8300 nm of ship. Most of the area was covered by 100% of soundings except in shallow waters and near the shelf. The responsible party did not provide further acquisition information. |
